Day 1: Arrive in Jordan

First up, visit the ruins of Jerash. This is one of the most important and best preserved Roman cities in the Middle East. From there, head south to Amman. In the Jordanian capital, you'll want to visit the city's great archaeological sites, including the Citadel and Roman Theater. In the afternoon, head further south to Petra where you'll spend the night.

Day 2: Spend the Day in Petra

Petra is one of the New 7 Wonders of the World for good reason.  Inhabited since around 9,000 BCE, it's a true cultural treasure.  Formed from rose-red rock, on a visit you can enter through the Siq gate to come up-close with the extraordinary Treasury that once guarded the ancient Nabatean city. Then continue through the ruins to see its ancient amphitheater and explore all the amazing caves and tombs. Later on in the day, head to a Bedouin camp in Wadi Rum and sleep under the light of the Milky Way.

Day 3: Explore Wadi Rum by Jeep

After breakfast, head out on a Jeep adventure through the Wadi Rum wilderness. On this trip, you'll be following in the footsteps of Lawrence of Arabia — you'll just be traveling a little bit faster as you speed over giant sand dunes in a 4x4. Devour a traditional (and completely delicious) lunch in the desert, check out a bright red rock bridge (or ten), then head to Jerusalem and end your amazing trip in Israel
